Property Details
Welcome to Hale Maluhia, (House of Peace) where we invite you to experience the warmth and Aloha that truly embody the spirit of the Hawaiian Islands!
This 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath townhome located within the lushly landscaped Mauna Lani Resort features all the best there is to offer. Granite countertops are featured in the kitchen and bathrooms, along with custom cabinetry, crown moldings, and stainless steel appliances. Each bedroom has a 4K HDTV, with high speed internet to ensure everyone can stream movies and shows at the same time. Massive sliding doors in the great room open up to the L-shaped lanai, bringing the outdoors in for that coveted indoor/outdoor lifestyle. Decorated with a contemporary tropical island touch that will help transform your vacation experience to a luxury oasis, this artistically presented home offers true serenity and privacy with world class services and amenities just steps away.
With a spacious, well thought out layout comprised of a ground floor master suite and 2 bedrooms on the upper level, with more than 2000 sq ft of interior space, you will truly feel like you are on vacation as you set foot in this spectacular home that will delight your senses with its warm, tropical Hawaiian ambiance. With room to sleep 8 in beds, you will find the right amount of space, whether traveling as one to three couples, or an extended family.
The master bedroom home is furnished with a king size bed (California King), private ensuite bath with soaking tub, his and hers vanities, separate walk-in shower, and massive walk in closet. A bench nook and work station in the bedroom round out the perfect symmetry between comfort and functionality. The 2nd bedroom also has a king bed with walk in closet. The two queen beds in the 3rd bedroom are brand new from The Mattress Firm, and feature adjustable bed angles, allowing you to give the bed some incline when you’d like to catch up on your reading before turning in for the night.
Downstairs, the large dining room table will comfortably accommodate 6-8 people, bar area will seat 3 and the gourmet kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, glassware, and all that you would need for the nights you choose to dine in. No detail has been overlooked, with French press coffee maker and grinder, Ninja blender, toaster and more, all available to ensure that no meal will be lacking. Of course, it wouldn’t be a vacation in Hawaii unless you could opt to dine outdoors on your lanai, next to the top of the line Viking grill and summer kitchen. Can you imagine 75 degrees at 5PM in February? How about every night during your stay! Multiple seating options exist on the spacious lanai, from the aforementioned dining set, to the teak patio duo for your morning cup of Joe, and lastly to the plush monkeypod loungers for those apres beach Mai Tais.
For those days where you want to stay closer to home, the recreation center at Kulalani is arguably the best on the coast, and boasts 2.5 acres of lushly landscaped lawns centered around two pools (1 lap pool and another lagoon-style resort pool), two jacuzzi spas, workout facility, and BBQ pavilion. All of this is only steps away from the unit! While you could spend the whole day there, you’ll certainly want to get out to see the private Mauna Lani Beach club as well, where you’ll have full access to the private parking area for residents and their guests. The beach there is one of the best for snorkeling, while the adjacent ancient fish ponds are a great place to explore and walk around. Keep an eye out for the “Puhi”, or local morey eel! You will find the Beach Club to be relaxing, peaceful, and fun. To help with your enjoyment, we have provided a variety of pool and beach amenities, such as beach chairs, towels, boogie boards, beach umbrellas, and other items.
When you need a break from cooking and grilling, there are a dozen fine dining restaurants within a ten minute drive of Kulalani, and you should try them all if you have the time!
Just a stone’s throw away from Kulalani are The Shops at Mauna Lani, Fairmont Orchid Hotel, and the new Auberge Resort Collection, where a multitude of dining options await. The Island inspired Tommy Bahama Restaurant, Canoe House at Auberge, Brown’s Beach House and Hale Kai at The Fairmont Orchid Hotel are all excellent choices for a spectacular meal out. Merriman’s in Waimea offers a fine selection of locavore cuisine to delight the pickiest of palates, while the culinary artistry of local chef Allen Hess at F.O.R.C. in Waimea await. Roy’s at Waikoloa leads the pack with a dazzling array of pan-Pacific fusion that is sure to leave you satisfied, and Pueo’s in Waikoloa Village offers a truly authentic Italian fine-dining experience. Manta and Copper Bar at Mauna Kea Resort have some of the best views of the sunset and ocean that you will see anywhere on the island, in an intimate atmosphere that boasts live music and a wine bar, along with manta ray sightings nearly every night! And last, but certainly not least, Lava Lava Beach Club at Waikoloa Resort has a fantastic beachfront locale, with entertainment nightly, and Happy Hour from 3-5 most afternoons.
For the morning person, Kimobean Coffee and Juice 101 are located conveniently at The Shops at Mauna Lani, while the gold standard Starbucks is a quick drive away, at the Queen’s Shops in Waikoloa. For a hearty breakfast, make sure you take the trip up to Waimea for a bite to eat at Hawaiian Style Cafe (re-opening soon), and if you have a chance to pair it with a visit to the Wednesday and Saturday morning farmer’s markets in Waimea, all the better!
You will find no end to activities to pleasure the active lifestyle seeker in every one of us, from snorkeling with green sea turtles (“Honu” in Hawaiian), to ziplining across lush mountain gorges, night diving with manta rays, or hiking out to see areas with the most recent volcanic lava flows you will see anywhere in the world! And at the end of the day, it’s nice to have a haven to return to, a place to relax, unwind, and revel in the beauty and excitement you have just experienced. So go fix your favorite island beverage, then kick back, relax, and enjoy!
We thank you in advance for considering Hale Maluhia for your first (or next!) trip to the Big Island. It is truly an amazing place to visit, and we certainly hope you will love it enough to come back again and again!

Fantastic stay in amazing condo!
by Teri Z

This trip was our first time to the island of Hawaii. There were four of us in our group. We chose this beautiful home mainly because of the amazing amenities and location.
The home was comfortable and inviting. We loved the modern, well equipped kitchen that provided everything needed for our meal preparation. The open floor concept gave the ability to stay connected with our group, no matter what you were doing.
The bedrooms were beautifully furnished and comfortable. It was also nice having a TV in each bedroom, along with the large screen in the living room.
The living room has floor to ceiling sliding glass doors on the two exterior walls. These doors completely open up the living area to the lanai. This was one of our favorite features of this home.
The homes lush landscaping made sitting on the lanai inviting and pleasurable. A perfect place to start your morning with a cup of coffee or to end your day with a refreshing drink. We also used the built in BBQ and prep counter on many evenings and enjoyed the spacious outdoor dining area.
This property includes access to a large, beautiful pool with a huge, covered, picnic and BBQ area that is just steps away. There is also two spas, a lap pool and an incredible work out facility. All within a very short walking distance.
We also loved having access to the homes umbrellas, beach chairs and bicycles with helmets.
There are many beautiful beaches to choose from within close proximity. There is also several golf courses to choose from, as well as a grocery store and shopping area nearby.
Overall we would give this home a 5 star rating and highly recommend it to anyone. It sleeps up to eight people, so great for a family gathering or get away with friends.
We are returning to Hawaii in October and will be staying in this lovely home again!
